Another cousin's wedding. This time from the Pasion side of the family. Kuyogs in their craziest! Aylavett! |
| | My cousin Claire's wedding to Joey after a whirlwind romance that spun in less than a year. Love love love works in the most exciting ways. This occasion is especially meaningful because Ate Kay is one of my best cousin-friends (the other is Melissa) and also it was a sort of a reunion for our family. Conflicts resolve. Everyone lives happily ever. The ties that bind. |

This is the draft script for a short film that I was supposed to do for my final project at the New York Film Academy. Unfortunately, the project was shelved due to conflicting schedules of the actors. I was still able to do another film for a final project, and luckily, it was a hit. (You can check it out here: Azucena)
But I kept this script hoping that one day, I'll be able to finally make it. Not just a short film, but a full-length feature! Who knows, right?
I would be glad to hear your comments.
Thanks! xo HF Yambao
BROKEN WINGS (Draft) September 2006, New York City Writers: HF Yambao / Julieza Limtian
Kris and Evan are seated at the bar of a new hotspot in Midtown Manhattan…
Evan: So girlfriend, what will it be tonight?
Kris: The usual. I’ll have a Grey Goose martini with 3 olives.
Evan (to bartender): Hi hon, a Grey Goose Martini for the lady… make sure it has 3 olives… and a Sex on the Beach for me.
Kris looks around.
Evan: (looks around as well) So, is there anything good on the menu tonight?
Kris: I dunno. I don’t see anyone yet. Ask me after a couple of drinks.
Evan: So, what’s new with you?
Kris: Nothing much. Same shit. Different day. How about you?
Evan: What? Wait a minute… Don’t turn this around on me just yet. As much as I’d love to talk about me, we haven’t talked about you in a while. What happened with the hunk in your apartment building?
Kris: Evan, he’s married.
Evan: Oh… well you know what they say… All the good ones are either taken…
Kris (in chorus with Evan): …or gay.
Both laugh. A guy at the bar eyes the two from a distance then begins to approach them. As he approaches, Evan and Kris notice him.
Evan: Well girl, looks like your luck is about to change.
Kris: It’s about time.
Guy: Hi, my name is Guy.
Kris: Hi. Kris.
Guy (towards Evan): And you are?
Evan: Evan.
Guy: Nice to meet you.
Evan looks around and sort of turns to the side to let them talk.
Kris: So Guy, what do you do?
Guy: I’m a consultant.
Kris: Really? That’s interesting.
Guy: Not really.
Kris lets out a laugh.
Kris: All right, you caught me. I was trying to be polite.
Guy: It’s ok. I thought that might be the case. So Kris, what do you do?
Kris: I’m a writer.
Guy: Now that’s interesting!
Kris: (laughs) Well, yeah… I guess.
Guy: Do you come here a lot?
Kris: Not really. This is actually my first time here. Evan’s the one that really knows his way around.
Guy: Really? (Leans in to whisper something in her ear.) Kris, I’d really like to talk to your friend. Do you think he’d be interested?
Kris: (pause) Oh. Yeah, of course. Just a second.
Kris (leans to Evan): He’s all yours.
Kris walks over to the bar.
Kris (to bartender): Can I have another Grey Goose martini... 3 olives please… (sighs) All the good ones… are taken… or (sighs)
Evan: Hey girl, you really know how to find’em… (leans towards bartender) Excuse me, can I have 2 blowjobs?
Kris: Evan, what’s wrong with me? Do I have a sign on my forehead that says “LOSER”? Cause if I do, just let me know. It’ll be shortly replaced with the sign “DESPERATE”.
Evan: Hey, I will have none of that. You are a beautiful, talented woman who has, by far, the best shoe collection in all of Manhattan. You of all people should not be doubting yourself.
Kris: I can’t help it, Evan. Sometimes, I just feel so alone. It’s like there isn’t really anyone out there for me.
Evan: Sweetheart, I don’t believe that. Did I ever tell you what my mother used to tell me?
Kris: What?
Evan: … that we are all angels who were cast down from heaven. When we reached earth, a thunderbolt split us in half and turned us into two people. One wing on one person and the other wing on another. We’re all destined to search the earth for our other half. But when we finally find them, the wings come together and fold like two hands intertwined.
Kris: I think my wing is broken.
Evan: No, it just hasn’t found its perfect match.
Kris: (Smiles) Thanks, Evan. This is the reason why you’re my best friend.
Bartender Brian comes with Evan’s orders.
Evan: Are you gonna be okay by yourself?
Kris: Go. (Smiles) I’ll be fine.
Evan and Kris kiss on the cheek. Evan disappears into the bar.
Brian: Hi. Can I get you another drink?
Kris: No, thank you. I’m fine right now.
Brian: Are you sure? You don’t look like you’re having a good time. No one sits at my bar with a frown. Let me get you another drink. On the house.
Kris: (Smiles) No, you don’t have to. I’m ok.
Brian: You don’t seem ok.
Kris: Well, apparently, my wing’s broken.
Brian: Really… should I call a doctor?
Kris: (Laughs) No, it’s ok. I think I’ll live. They laugh together. I was just thinking about this story my friend was telling me. Basically, he said I should just wait and the right person will come along.
Brian: Looks like your friend’s a wise man.
Kris: So it would seem.
Brian: It’s just hard to believe that a girl like you has that problem.
Kris: A broken wing?
Brian: Finding the right man.
Kris: (Smiles) Same thing.
Brian: Now that’s better. You’re very pretty when you smile. My name is Brian by the way…
Kris: Kris.
Brian: It’s nice to meet you, Kris. New Yorker?
Kris: No, I just recently moved here 2 years ago. My folks are originally from the south.
Brian: Wow! So, where’s that southern belle drawl?
Kris: (Laughs) I dunno. I never really picked it up.
Brian: Southern accents are really sexy on women.
Kris (with a fake southern accent): Well, that can be arranged.
Brian: (Laughs) It’s not you.
Kris: I didn’t think so.
Brian: So, Kris from the South, Can I get you that drink now?
Kris: Sure.
Brian: Grey Goose Martini right?
Kris: Right. (in chorus with Bryan) With 3 olives.
Bartender Bryan goes and gets the drink. Comes back and hands it to Kris. Their hands touch and their fingers intertwine.

Death WishKill me. Little by little. Take my life away.
Hurt me. With such Searing pain. Inflicted by A thousand beasts In a wild stampede. On the vast plains And deep valleys Of my body.
Make me bleed. Profusely. Like a fountain Running From the canals Of my heart to The streams Of my veins. Until it is drained. Barren as a Wasteland.
Kill me.
Little by little. Every pain inflicted. Until my body is numb. Until my mind is blank. Until my heart stops Beating For you.
Take my life away. What more is there to it? Kill me.
So I can live Among the stars.

| | metroHIM Magazine 5th Anniversary / Men Of The Year Awards October 27 @ the Rockwell Tent
It's one of those few events that I dare not miss even if I now come all the way from Pampanga!
I met up with a few old friends from college (Shayne, Philip, Popo, Grace) and some friends from the industry (Joey, Ivar, John Paul, Louis, Ricky, Bents). I also brought along my Kapampangan Krew--my cousin Melissa and our friends Janinja and Munoy.
Booze was flowin' and the music was thumpin'. The fashion show was smashin'. Joey Samson, as always, knocked everyone's socks off! Also worth mentioning are the collections of Ivarluski Aseron and Louis Claparols.
The Men Of the Year includes actors Aga Muhlach and Diether Ocampo, Broadcast Journalist David Celdran, and businessman Joey Concepcion to name a few. The event was hosted by the gorgeous Sarah Meier.
Camwhores all are we. Pictures here, there, and everywhere. The Scenestealers and Pampanga Fashionistas are at it again. Thanks to the design genius, THE JOEY SAMSON, for my outfit. Better watch out for press releases. Our group was so much photographed that night! ;D
After party at Fiamma.
Such a fun night of fashion and friends!
Enjoy the photos. ;D (Some photos grabbed from Janinja, Philip, and John Paul.)
